Assisted Bicycle Servicing Program for Bicycle Delivery Riders who reside within the City of Parramatta Local Government Area

The COVID-19 Pandemic has seen an increase in the number of Bicycle Delivery Riders servicing customers and businesses within the Parramatta Local Government Area.

As a result, City of Parramatta Council’s Traffic and Transport Services Unit have created  a new road safety program which increases the road safety of these essential workers and supports local business by encouraging delivery riders to have their bicycles serviced locally with the aim of increasing road safety for all road users.

As part of this program, Council will offer a $50.00 voucher which will go towards the costs of servicing the bicycles of eligible delivery riders.

Due to this, the program includes the bicycle repairer supplying a free roadworthy loan bicycle to the delivery rider while their bicycle is being serviced.

Council has engaged the services of a local bicycle repairer based in the Parramatta CBD to participate in this road safety program.

Riders will also be provided links and encouraged to view educational information relating to road rules for bicycle riders and road safety when vouchers are issued.

Eligibility

Vouchers are limited (subject to funding) and eligible riders must live within the Parramatta LGA , have a working horn or bell  on their bicycle (a legal requirement) and be able to provide proof of a supplier agreement with a delivery platform. The rider will also be required to complete a short survey which will help Council identify and improve road safety opportunities within the community.
